Podcasting In 2021

I have been podcasting for awhile. Sometimes I forget how long I been doing something like podcasting.

When I first started listening to podcast I was 19 years old and was still figuring out how to be a person. I was listening to Marc Maron figure out how many comics still had “beef” with him. It was a different time for comedy and podcasting.

In 2020 in like three months 80,000 podcast were added to iTunes. Holy hell, that is so many at once. Microphones were sold out on Amazon. It was nuts!

Now we are entering 2021 and I wonder how many of those podcast made it past episode one. I mean, I understand podcasting is really hard and unforgiving. I have gone months without posting an episode and thought “who cares?” But my goal in 2020 was to really bring it back to life.

My goal for 2021 is to keep it alive.

So here I am typing out my thoughts at 3am. Wondering what will happen to podcasting in 2021 with more people in the game, more marketing dollars behind it and more apps that make listening even easier.
